There is a heat exchanger underneath the oil filter housing which uses the water system to cool the oil. If it was me, firstly I'd use a decent oil, probably 10w-60 rather than 10w-40 if worrying about oil getting hot. Then I'd fit an oil temperature gauge to see if there was a problem.
